14 DAYS SAFARI FLAMINGO TRAIL (T19)


Day 1: Nairobi

Transfer from airport to your city hotel. Afternoon at leisure enjoying the recreational facilities or conduct on a city sightseeing tour of Nairobi: National Museum, Snake Park, KICC, City Market, Major Streets, etc.

Day 2: Nairobi / Masai Mara

07:30 pick up from hotel and drive to Masai Mara game reserve, driving through the picturesque Rift Valley, with its awe-inspiring vistas. Game viewing as we enter the park on our way to lodge for lunch. After lunch, first game drive, looking out for lions, elephants, giraffes, buffalos, gazelles, bongos, cheetahs, leopards, rhinos and other plains game.

Day 3: Masai Mara

Whole day game spotting in the Masai Mara reserve, which is the natural extension of the famous Serengeti national park in northern Tanzania. Optional excursions include a visit to a Masai Village or hot air balloon ride departing at 06:00 and ends with champagne breakfast on the plains.

Day 4: Masai Mara / L. Nakuru

After breakfast leave for Lake Nakuru national park, world-famous for its concentration of millions of pink flamingoes. After lunch, game drive. Common spots here include the waterbuck, leopard, buffalo, eland, Rothschild giraffe, bushbuck, gazelle, etc. We’ll also visit the Rhino Sanctuary. Relax in the evening, overlooking the lake.

Day 5: Lake Nakuru / Lake Baringo

After breakfast, driving through an awe-inspiring vistas of Great Rift Valley, arriving at lodge in Lake Baringo National Park in time for lunch. In the afternoon we take a boat ride on the lake, or optional visit to the Njemps tribe, one of the smallest in Kenya. A great variety of birds inhabit the lake, which is also home to hippopotamuses and crocodiles.

Day 6: Lake Baringo / Lake Naivasha

Depart after breakfast, stopping at Lake Bogoria for game viewing and possibility to see millions of pink flamingos. Continue to Naivasha, arriving at lodge for lunch. Afternoon boat ride on the lake hugged by grassy banks and shingled with cacti and sand olive trees, the lake extends like a vast, sunlit sea.

Day 7: Lake Naivasha / Amboseli

After breakfast depart for Amboseli National Park, driving leisurely up the Rift Valley escarpment. Lunch will be at the famous Nairobi Carnivore restaurant, renowned for its succulent grilled steaks, including game meat. After lunch we continue to Amboseli, game viewing as we enter the park.

Day 8: Amboseli

Full day spent game tracking in this magnificent park, right at the foot of Mount Kilimanjaro, the highest peak in Africa. In the early morning, there is a chance of spotting snow on its two peaks, Mawenzi and Kibo. Game here includes cape buffalo, hippo, gazelle, hartebeest, zebra, wildebeest, lion, cheetah, herds of elephant and plenty of other plains game.

Day 9: Amboseli / Tsavo West

After breakfast, head south to Tsavo West National Park. Tsavo is the largest park in Kenya, and is split into East and West by the Nairobi / Mombasa highway. Arrive at lodge for lunch. Afternoon game drive in the park. Common spots include: herds of elephants, buffalos, ostriches, gazelles, impalas, giraffes, zebras and the accompanying predatory cats. We will also visit the Rhino Sanctuary.

Day 10: Tsavo West / Tsavo East

Early morning game drive to watch predators on the hunt. After breakfast , head for Tsavo East, with a visit to Mzima Springs. Here, there’s an underground viewing platform to observe crocodile, hippo and the various fish under water. Continue to Tsavo East, game viewing en route to lodge for lunch. Afternoon game spotting where gerenuks, cape buffalos, red elephants, lions, cheetahs, zebras, gazelles, and plenty of other plains game can be spotted.

Day 11: Tsavo East / Mombasa

Early morning game drive to observe animals as they head to the water holes and the swamps to quench their thirst. It’s also the time to spot the big cats hunting. Back to the lodge for breakfast then depart for Mombasa, arriving at your beach hotel.

Day 12: Mombasa

Whole day snorkeling and/or diving at Wasini and Kisite, the best marine parks along the Kenyan coast. Chance to explore the Swahili culture and seafood lunch will be served at the restaurant.

Day 13: Mombasa

Whole day Mombasa city tour and a visit to the local villages to observe and learn some of the locals’ lifestyle, culture and traditions including visiting school or orphanage home. Participate in some of the local activities, like traditional dances, local drinks, etc. Lunch will also be local fare in local surroundings.

Day 14: Mombasa

Transfer to Mombasa airport.
