12 DAYS SAFARI NYALI AND BEACH (T20)


Day 1: Nairobi

Transfer from airport to hotel.

Day 2: Nairobi / Shaba

07:00 hotel pick up and depart for Shaba game reserve. Lunch en route before crossing the equator and continue to Shaba, game viewing en route. The Shaba reserve has dramatic scenery including river-side forests, scattered woodlands and dry grasslands dominated by the Shaba Hill volcano. The plentiful wildlife relies on waterholes and marshes scattered throughout the reserve. Shaba is home to the endangered Grevy’s zebra and the rare Williams’s lark.

Day 3: Shaba

Whole day game drive in this arid and sprawling reserve. Unique spots here include: Long-necked gerenuk, Beisa oryx, reticulated giraffe, Somali ostrich and other plains game with their predators. This is where the unusual phenomenon of a lioness adopting a baby oryx took place, and not only just once, but twice!

Day 4: Shaba / Mount Kenya National Park

After breakfast, out for game spotting in the Shaba game reserve. Back to lodge for lunch and then depart for Mount Kenya region, arriving in the late afternoon. Overnight will be in a “tree hotel”, situated right on the foot of Mount Kenya, the highest in the country. Here you’ll observe wild animals from your verandah / balcony as they come to quench their thirst at the water holes.

Day 5: Mount Kenya / Lake Nakuru

After breakfast depart for the Great Rift Valley, which extends from Jordan down to Mozambique. We drive through its awe-inspiring vistas, arriving at lodge in time for lunch. In the afternoon, game drive around the lake and in the park. Lake Nakuru is world-famous for its millions of pink flamingoes and other aquatic birds. You will also visit the White Rhino Sanctuary. Other easy spots here include waterbuck, reedbuck, gazelle, giraffe, cape buffalo, leopard, impala, etc.

Day 6: Lake Nakuru / Masai Mara

After breakfast, we head for the world-famous Masai Mara game reserve, game spotting as we enter the park, arriving at lodge for lunch. In the afternoon, game viewing in the Masai Mara. The Big Five (elephant, rhino, lion, buffalo and leopard) are easy spots here. Other game would include cheetah, giraffe, wildebeest, hartebeest, bongo, topi, eland and hundreds of species of birds.

Day 7: Masai Mara

The whole day is dedicated to game viewing. Masai Mara is an extension of Serengeti national park in northern Tanzania, where millions of herbivores migrate annually, followed by their predators.

An optional visit to a Masai village or hot air balloon ride departing at 06:00 and ends with champagne breakfast on the plains. What an exhilarating and unforgettable experience! In the morning you might be lucky to spot some of the big cats having their breakfast. This is also the time when nature is waking up.

Day 8: Masai Mara – Nairobi – Mombasa

After breakfast, we head to Nairobi, game drive en route, saying bye to this magnificent park, with its undulating hills and fantastic panoramas. We arrive in Nairobi and head straight to the famous Carnivore restaurant for lunch. This one is renowned for its succulent steaks, including game meat. Thereafter transfer to Nairobi airport for your flight to Mombasa. On arrival at the airport, you will be met, assisted and transferred to your coastal beach resort.

Day 9: Mombasa

A full day Mombasa city tour is at your disposal, including a visit to a local community, which will give you an insight into the life and traditions of Kenyans. You’ll also have the opportunity to participate in some of the cultural activities of the locals.

Day 10: Mombasa

A full day at leisure to enjoy the hotel facilities, do your last-minute shopping or take another optional excursion including Tamarind Dhow cruise, full day Wasini snorkeling and diving / goggling (swim with the dolphins), one day Malindi, etc.

Day 11: Mombasa

Free time during the day. In the evening, you will be transferred to the Tamarind Dhow for a romantic evening cruise with dinner and entertainment on board. After this evening, transfer back to hotel or possibility of extending the night in a night club or casino (optional).

Day 12: Flight Mombasa / Nairobi

Morning free. After lunch transfer to Mombasa airport for your flight to Nairobi to connect on your international flight.
